1st Special Operations Logistics Readiness Squadron

Mission

The 1st Special Operations Logistics Readiness Squadron is comprised of five flights providing total support to the 1st Special Operations Wing and associate units by meeting a full spectrum of logistic needs through the efficient supply of material and fuels, the expert management and maintenance of the vehicle fleet, the performance of traffic management service and the planning and management of the entire mobilization process to ensure an accurate and rapid response in the wings commitment to support global military operations.

Responsibilities include: Deployment planning, training, and execution; operating, and maintaining a fleet of vehicles and equipment; supply services; fuels support; cargo receiving, packaging/crating and shipping services; personal property and base wide passenger services; and air cargo and passenger terminal operations.

The Deployment and Distribution Flight is responsible for the centralized command and control, planning and execution of all wing deployment operations and the distribution of cargo, passengers and person property. The Deployment and Distribution flight is divided into four functionally diverse sections: Plans and Integration Section; Personal Property Section, Small Air Terminal and Passenger Movement Section; Distribution Section with Vehicle operations and Cargo Movement Elements.

The Vehicle Management Flight manages and services a vehicle fleet of approximately 678 base-wide vehicles through 6 diverse work centers. The Fleet Management and Analysis section trains all Vehicle Control Officers on the installation. This flight shoulders the responsibility of keeping the wings vehicle fleet in service and above mission critical levels at all times.

The Materiel Management Flight stocks, stores, issues, accounts for and receives hundreds of thousands of line items of supplies and equipment. They also manage the Mobility Readiness Spares Packages for the 1 SOW aircraft. Additionally, they manage vital assets to equip the warfighter with individual protective equipment and weapons. Their services include a Customer Support Center, Equipment Accountability, a Flight Service Center, Central Storage of millions of dollars’ worth of items, as well as the CV-22 and C-130 Parts Stores.

The Fuels Management Flight provides 24/7 servicing of aviation fuel, ground fuel, and cryogenic products to support all assigned and transient aircraft. They sustain a unique forward area refueling point (FARP) capability that trains and supports team members Air Force-wide on combat critical ground refueling techniques and tactics in remote and hostile enemy areas.

Finally, Operations and Compliance (OC) Flight is aligned under and responsible to the Logistics Manager. This flight is the commander’s single point of contact for the “health of the squadron” issues. OC provides oversight of squadron compliance, training, resources, accountability, and analysis.
