The Hurlburt Field and Eglin Air Force Base intramural flag football league champions squared off Jan. 10 at the Aderholt Fitness Center field to decide exactly who is the best of the best.

The 16th Services Squad-ron dominated the 96th Comptroller Squadron with a 25-0 victory.

Services finished the intramural season at 11-2, and the Eglin comptrollers finished at 11-1.

The Eglin comptroller team started the game marching down the field into the red zone, before Brian Lewis, 16th SVS, intercepted the ball and ran it back for a touchdown.

This play set the tone for the rest of the game. Lead by the quarterbacking of Lewis, the Commandos scored 25 unanswered points.

Nick Sato caught two touchdown passes, and Matt Ryan caught one.

They have an amazing quarterback, said Jody Harden, Eglin coach.

Both teams hope this game will pioneer future competition between Hurlburt Field and Eglin intramural league champions.

“It feels good to not only represent services, but to represent Hurlburt Field as a whole,” said Lewis.
