Hurlburt Field exits Hurricane Condition 5 here as of 4 P.M., CDT; strong winds of 50 knots or greater are no longer forecast to impact the installation.

According to base leadership, the installation’s number one priority remains posturing an operationally ready force while taking care of its most important asset—the Airmen.

Hurricane Ian made landfall over west central Florida around 2 P.M., CDT, as a strong Category 4 hurricane today. The 1st Special Operations Wing stands ready to support those impacted by the storm.

All military and Department of Defense civilian members assigned to Hurlburt Field are advised to stay in contact with their command teams and monitor official websites as well as local radio and television weather reports. Normal duty hours are currently still in effect.
