Physical fitness is constantly evolving, and the 1st Special Operations Wing is embracing the evolution by offering new equipment and instruction.

The 1st Special Operations Force Support Squadron purchased TRX boxes, which include suspension trainers, rip trainers and an assortment of other equipment for consistent commitment to physical activity enrichment.

"We received the TRX boxes in June," said Master Sgt. Williston, 1st SOFSS, fitness superintendent, "The TRX boxes are now open to Hurlburt Field members to use at their leisure."

1st SOFSS also hosted TRX instructors to certify FSS and Health and Wellness Center personnel on the proper use of the equipment.

In addition to certifying fitness staff, the trainers also held training sessions for Hurlburt Field personnel. This 1-hour class gave members a basic knowledge of maximizing strength through core movements.

"I teach all types of war fighters how to move their bodies because that's really going to be their best weapon and training tool," said Chris Frankel, head of human performance for TRX.
