Air Force Special Operations Command Inspector General Col. David Harris announced excellent operational readiness inspection ratings for both the 16th Special Operations Wing and the 720th Special Tactics Group during the ORI outbrief July 7 in Freedom Hanger.

The event kicked off with a video highlighting the accomplishments of Air Commandos during the ORI. After the applause subsided, the inspectors covered the ratings of each portion of the inspection.

After the announcements were completed, the AFSOC IG, AFSOC commander, 16th SOW commander and 720th commander took turns congratulating the Airmen on their success.
“I can’t say enough words on how proud I am on this excellent ORI,” said Lt. Gen. Michael Wooley, AFSOC commander. “Congratulations on a job well done.”

After General Wooley, a fired-up 16th SOW commander took the stage.

“These are the best special operations units that have ever been assembled in the history of the Air Force, period dot,” said Col. Norman Brozenick Jr., 16th SOW commander. “You demonstrated to Gen. Doug Brown, U.S. Special Operations Command commander, and Gen. T. Michael Moseley, Air Force Chief of Staff, that you are the best.”

An equally energized Col. Ken Rodriguez, 720th STG commander, echoed the congratulatory words.

“To get an excellent during a full scale war on terror is nothing short of phenomenal,” he said.
With the ORI completed, Colonel Brozenick wrapped up the outbrief with a powerful challenge to the Commandos of the 16th SOW and 720th STG.

“Deliver (Osama) Bin Laden to the people of the United States,” said the commander.
