1st Special Operations Services Squadron emblem significance: The disc is divided into dark and light blue to suggest the unit's day/night service operations. The globe signifies the worldwide duty commitment of the unit and it's worldwide mobility and quick response commitment of the unit's PRIME RIBS teams. The grid lines and olive branches represent the unit's constant striving for peace and serenity of the world--the mission will be accomplished, be it during peacetime or wartime. The dagger reflects the commitment by six major flights of the unit to uphold the proud heritage of the air commandos.
