Air Force Best Practices
AFSO21 process improvement project The 1st Special Operations Wing is looking for process improvement projects and will give a three day pass to all suggestions selected.
The submitted process must:
1. Be within the 1st SOW commander's ability to make a change. Air Force Special Operations Command Headquarters and Air Force level processes are outside 1st SOW's scope.
2. Exhibit one or more of the eight major types of waste:
The process routinely produces defects
The process produces more than anyone needs
People, paperwork, or parts spend excessive time waiting
The process does more than anyone needs or cares about
Material gets needlessly moved around a lot
The process does not take advantage of an individual's specialized skills or knowledge
People spend excessive amounts of time walking around
The process creates large amounts of inventory that end up sitting for long periods of time
To submit a project idea or for questions, send an email with the project details to Master Sgt. Darrell Underwood, superintendent for the 1st SOW AFSO21.
