1st Special Operations Munitions Maintenance Squadron

Mission
FEEDING THE FIGHT by providing the joint warfighters with reliable munitions and weapons systems to protect and defend national interests.

The 1st Special Operations Munitions Maintenance Squadron weaponizes 1st Special Operation Wing missions and is a major contributor to the lethality of their Aircraft. The 1st Special Operations Munition Maintenance Squadron is responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the Air Forces Special Operations Command’s largest weapons cache.

The squadron provides the flying squadrons on Hurlburt Field with thousands of 105mm, 30mm, Air-to-ground missiles, and countermeasures daily supporting A/C 130J gunships, M/C-130H, and U-28 missions and training. The squadron maintains base support munitions for thirty-nine organizations across state lines and DoD services.

Lineage
The 1st Special Operations Munitions Maintenance Squadron was originally a flight under the 1st Special Operations Maintenance Squadron. The 1st Special Operations Munitions Maintenance Squadron was activated on July 8, 2020 becoming the first munitions squadron in Air Force Special Operations Command history under their first commander Major Clayton Seiler.
