Due to sequestration and civilian furloughs, the food pantry inside the Airman's Attic here recently opened its doors to civilian personnel.

Hurlburt Airman's Voice, Focus 5/6 and the First Sergeants Council teamed up to make it possible.

"The ultimate goal is to ensure all Hurlburt Field members, whether active duty or civilian, will have access to food items when needed," said Master Sgt. Jennifer Pahl, 1st Special Operations Equipment Maintenance Squadron first sergeant.

The food pantry has more than 3,000 pounds of non-perishable food available.

"Anyone who needs access to the pantry should go to their squadron's first sergeant to receive assistance," said Airman 1st Class Rayna Yamamoto, 1st Special Operations Communications Squadron program manager.
