Hurlburt Field's civilian employees will soon see more functions within Civilian Personnel Flights automated, much like Airmen have seen through virtual Military Personnel Flight initiatives.

According to Dolly Holbrook, 1st Special Operations Mission Support Squadron human resource officer, future changes will incorporate automation and technology changes as the centralization of the civilian personnel programs increase.

"It's possible we will file worker's compensation cla-ims through a Web-based program," Mrs. Holbrook said. "Other programs may eventually incorporate Web-based systems as well."

A number of CPF services are currently available including civilian virtual in-processing, civilian career brief, civilian electronic official personnel folder, emergency data system, employee benefits information system and my biz - my workplace.

A possible draw back to the enterprise will be reluctance by civilian employees to accept the transition to 'self-service' rather than contacting the CPF as the new way to do business.

However, Mrs. Holbrook believes streamlining the process will save time and money.

"All employees will be able to manage their opportunities for employment, career enhancement, and training and development via Web-based applications," Mrs. Holbrook said.

The Air Force initiative will eventually affect all appropriated fund employees here at Hurlburt, according to Mrs. Holbrook.

"The Personnel Services Delivery process will become the new way of life for employees," Mrs. Holbrook said. "The integration of that process will be a tremendous benefit to each employee -accessing individual records and managing their individual careers from their desks will be an enormous time saver."

Although no firm date has been identified for a complete transition to this new initiative, it is currently under development, according to Mrs. Holbrook.
