Installation Excellence Award
The 1st Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron Fire and Emergency Services frequently teams up with the county fire departments for training purposes and actual emergencies. They are trained to handle live fires and advanced rescue evolutions on high-rise structures. Twelve of the squadrons’ certified firefighters have advanced to Emergency Medical Technician level to better serve the personnel that work and live on Hurlburt Field. They developed an in-house course which increased the amount of medical response technicians by 30 percent. (U.S. Air Force Photograph by Jamie Haig)
