1 SOW Change of Command
Col. Tom Palenske, commander of the 1st Special Operations Wing, takes the guidon from Lt. Gen. Brad Heithold, commander of Air Force Special Operations Command, to assume command of the 1st SOW during a change of command ceremony at Hurlburt Field, Fla., June 10, 2016. Upon taking command of the 1st SOW, Palenske will be responsible for preparing Air Force special operations forces for missions worldwide in support of Army, Navy, Marine and allied special operations forces and USAF counterparts.
