APEX: Munitions specialists, aircrew enhance combat munitions capabilities
U.S. Air Force munitions systems specialists assigned to the 1st Special Operations Wing move munitions during an Ammo Advanced Performance Experience at Hurlburt Field, Florida, Nov. 5, 2025. During APEX, ammo troops forward deployed on a MC-130J Commando II, generating munitions to re-arm a simulated AC-130J Ghostrider gunship and F-15E Strike Eagle involved in combat. APEX allows ammo troops and aircrew to earn proficiency on numerous types of munitions, advancing effective integration with allies and partners and guaranteeing readiness to operate in any theater.
