Airman 1st Class Naomi Griego, media relations specialist and photojournalist for 1st Special Operations Wing Public Affairs, is selected for this week's spotlight.

Hobbies: Taking my son to places like the beach and the park. Also, I enjoy taking photos of my family.

What do you do on a daily basis at Hurlburt?
I work with the local media outlets to ensure that the Air Force story, specifically here at Hurlburt Field, is told.

What do you enjoy about your job?
The best part of my job is I get to make a difference in at least one person's life. As a photographer my imagery has been published and distributed worldwide and now that I am in the media section I have the opportunity to work with media on a global scale as well.

Why did you join the Air Force?
I joined the Air Force because I had an inclination to do so. I saw it as a great opportunity to further my education and serve my country as my father had done before me.

How does your Air Force specialty contribute to the mission?
My job is vital in contributing to the mission because I get to tell the Air Force story. I take imagery and work with media to write stories on the Airmen that make up the Air Force.

If you were chief master sergeant of the Air Force for one day, how would you change the Air Force? 
I would change the dress uniform to something maybe a little old school.

What's your favorite thing about Hurlburt Field?
My favorite thing about Hulburt Field is everything! I love the run to the Soundside, I love seeing the sun rise over the flightline, I love how exciting things are here and I can't say  I have one favorite.

What do you like most about being an Airman?
I love that in my two years of being an Airmen I have had the opportunity to meet with the men and women who have shaped our Air Force and those that our shaping it now.

What's one thing you wish you were told before joining the Air Force?
I wish someone had told me before joining the Air Force that wearing the uniform would have changed my perspective on life. It wasn't until after I realized the responsibility that comes with wearing the uniform. I represent an entire force of hardworking service members who sacrifice so much for such a great country. I truly serve among the best.

What motivates you at work?
My son motivates me at work; he inspires me to pursue all of my goals and to continue to better myself.

Who are your heroes/role models?
I am inspired by a multitude of successful people. Anyone from my mother to my favorite music artist Slug from Atmosphere influences me. It really depends what I am thinking about at the time.

Advice to others?
My advice is to seek greatness, but for the right reasons. Never do anything with an expectation because, more times than not, you will be greatly disappointed.
