The Okaloosa County Tax Collector's Office held its grand opening at building 90320, room 111 at Hurlburt Field, Fla., April 2.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official opening of the office, complete with honorable guests such as William Creekmore, mayor of the City of Mary Esther, and various commanders from Hurlburt Field in attendance.

"We're very excited to be here, on base," Creekmore said. "I would like to express what we feel is the significance of us being able to deliver civilian services for the county here on base, at the convenience of you, your troops and their dependents."

The office offers a wide range of services including driver's licenses, vehicle registrations and hunting and fishing licenses while being conveniently located on base.

"It's a huge time savings for our folks to be able to have this service available here on Hurlburt, where they can just walk in the door, come in the office, where there is very little wait time, get in, get out and get back to work or do whatever they need to do," said Col. Douglas Dudley, commander of 1st Special Operations Mission Support Group.

The tax collector's office shares the building facility with the Airman's Attic, with "Okaloosa County Tax Collector" spelled out in lettering on the face of the building. The office is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and closed between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.
