The Aderholt Fitness Center will test a new 24-hour manning schedule for a 30-day trial period beginning April 1.

The month-long test is set to gauge Airmen's utilization of the facility during the expanded hours. The program may be discontinued should too few patrons take advantage of the change.

"Basically, it's just a test to see if there is actually a demand for a 24-hour gym," said Lt. Col. Derrick Floyd, commander of 1st Special Operations Force Support Squadron.

A gym that runs all day and night may allow Airmen who work night shifts to have more options for physical training.

"Sometimes I work a swing shift, and if the gym's open at night, I can still get my workout in," said Airman Dallas Burton, an aircraft fuel systems apprentice of 1st Special Operations Component Maintenance Squadron.

Floyd said many installations test changing their schedules for maximum benefit. The determination to keep them after the trial largely depends on the Airmen who use them.

Regardless of whether the Aderholt remains 24/7 in May, Floyd said his squadron's dedication to Team Hurlburt has no time limit.

"As always, we, at Force Support, look forward to taking care of our Airmen," he said.
