Saving means winning

HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. -- Contest winners of Military Saves Week 's 'Change to Save' and 'Extreme Couponing' contests were recognized and awarded by the staff of Airmen and Family Readiness Center on Hurlburt Field, Fla. March 7.

The 'Change to Save' contest encouraged local Hurlburt participants to gather all loose change.

"We scrounged through couches and car seats and ended up with more than $100," said Staff Sgt. Benjamin Bagley, a crew chief from the 801st Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.

Bagley and his family won $50 collecting the most change for the 'Change to Save' contest during Military Saves Week. The Bagley family gathered $125.48 earning them the additional $50 award.

"I will most definitely participate again," said Donna Bagley, wife of SSgt. Benjamin Bagley.

The 'Extreme Couponing' contest winner Sarah Turner also had advice for future participants.

"Pick up papers, look online and start off small," said Turner. "It takes patience and organization,"

Turner paid $90.71 during a recent grocery shopping trip and saved $1070.99 in savings.

Turner also won a $50 award, which she plans to use on a future grocery shopping trip.
