Zombies swarmed the Hurlburt Field Landing Zone Community Center and danced the night away during the Zombie Rave June 22.

Airmen donned makeup and put on costumes to this free zombie-themed event for a nightly diversion that involved dancing and music.

"Anything that has to do with zombies, we're in," said Andy Donahue, wife of Staff Sgt. Mark Donahue. "I was told about this yesterday and I had my makeup on by 2 p.m."

The Zombie Rave had a private disc jockey who played many popular hits while two large projector screens played scenes from famous zombie movies and zombie themed video games.

Event organizers also made glow sticks plentiful, giving the dark, black light-lit room a wide spectrum of dazzling colors.

"The more people that go to these events, the better they are," said Mark Donahue, a bioenvironmental engineer for the 1st Special Operations Aerospace Medicine Squadron. "If you put yourself out there, you're going to have fun."
