The 1st Special Operations Wing welcomed a new vice wing commander April 30. Here is a little more information about him.

Name/Rank: Col. Robert Miglionico

Organization: 1st Special Operations Wing

Hometown: Homestead, Fla.

Off-duty time is for: Family and fun, water sports and fishing

Previous assignments:
2008-2009: Chief, Maintenance Management Branch, HQ Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.
2009-2010: Student, Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.
2010-2012: Commander, 1st Special Ops Maintenance Group, Hurlburt Field, Fla.

Organizational Goals:
Simply put, my goal is to assist the wing commander in safely executing the 1st SOW mission. To do that, it will be imperative to communicate the commander's intent to the wing and provide the necessary resources and assistance to the group commanders so they can successfully command their organizations.

Additionally, a continued, cooperative relationship with our higher headquarters staff is essential to ensure proper communication and minimum confusion as we work together to accomplish the Air Force Special Operations Command's objectives.

Finally, fostering the commander's initiatives to best take care of our Airmen and their families and to keep family members informed is directly linked to mission readiness and success.

Work Philosophy:
All of us volunteered to be Airmen, and, as such, our work ethic should reflect that being an Airman is our choice. Work to live-- do not live to work.
