Highway 98 CLOSURE Feb. 5 due to Pedestrian Bridge construction

MARY ESTHER, Fla. --  Due to construction on the base pedestrian bridge a section of Highway 98 located in front of Hurlburt Field and west of the main gate will be closed Sunday, Feb. 5, beginning 12:01 a.m.

Traffic on Highway 98 will be stopped and will reopen approximately 8 a.m., after which two-way traffic may be limited until noon.

DOD ID card holders will have access to the base at all times. 

For traffic to/from the east: The Main Gate and Sound Side Gate will be open during this time, however, to help ease traffic congestion and for the safety of all personnel involved, please use the East Gate.

Hurlburt Field is working with local authorities to ensure that designated emergency vehicles have access through base if needed.

This closure ensures the safety of base personnel and local community population as work is completed on Hurlburt Field facilities.
