Chief Master Sgt. Ramon Colon-Lopez, command chief for the 1st Special Operations Wing, assembled Hurlburt Field's enlisted Airmen, E-1 to E-4, for an all-call at King Auditorium, Jan. 17.

The junior Airman's all-call spotlighted Colon-Lopez who introduced himself to Hurlburt Field's Airmen after becoming command chief Nov. 30. He also provided professional development advice directed at young Airmen and discussed his leadership philosophy using an analogy between herbivores and carnivores.

"It's not what they consume, it's about mindset," said Colon-Lopez. "Carnivores aren't content; instead they are fit, muscular beasts always looking for the next best thing, never settling for second best."

Colon-Lopez hopes to have more carnivore-minded Airmen as part of achieving his goal for 2012; for Hurlburt to have the most professionally developed, fit force.

As an overall guide to achieve this, Colon-Lopez has compiled a list of 20 "Silver Bullets" based upon his personal experiences and those of his peers. The command chief will be releasing these keys for success to Airmen.

"Amateurs train till they get it right, but professionals train till they can't get it wrong," Colon-Lopez said explaining one of his "Silver Bullets."

Airman's Voice, an organization representing the interests of the lower enlisted Airmen, assisted in hosting the event. To lighten up the mood, they presented an ice breaker quiz asking six Airmen professional development and leadership questions. After answering several questions correctly the winner was presented with a coin by Colon-Lopez.

There will be another junior Airman's all-call scheduled for Feb. 3 to accommodate Airmen who could not attend Tuesday's assembly due to space constraints at the auditorium.
