More than 3,000 1st Special Operations Wing Airmen ran 2.6 miles past C-130s and other aircraft in a wing-wide formation run on the flightline Nov. 7, at Hurlburt Field Fla.

1st SOW leadership organized the run to build morale and promote high physical training standards.

"The wing run was put together in concert with the wing commander's desire
to continually build camaraderie, espirit de corps and relationships among
wing members," said Chief Master Sgt. Dexter Mitchell, command chief of the 1st SOW.

The Chief also spoke about the work put into make the wing run happen.

"The First Sergeants Executive Council was the brains behind the
logistics and set-up, ensuring the behind the scenes leg work and overall
execution ran smoothly. I would like to give a special thanks to Senior Master Sgt. Brian
Stone, first sergeant of the 4th Special Operations Squadron!"

The wing run gave an opportunity for Airmen from many different areas of responsibility to come together.

"It was important to see several thousand people running together on the
flightline, which gave a picture to how big the wing really is and how many
impact the mission," Chief Mitchell added.
