1st SODS welcomes new commander Published Sept. 20, 2011 1st Special Operations Wing Public Affairs HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. -- The 1st Special Operations Dental Squadron welcomed a new commander July 15. Here is a little more information about him. Name/Rank: Col. Carroll Palmore, Jr. Organization: 1st Special Operations Dental Squadron Hometown: Chesapeake, Va. and Picayune, Miss. Off-duty time is for: Working with the Boy Scouts of America and its honorary society, The Order of the Arrow. Also traveling to include humanitarian medical mission work. Previous Assignments -Ramstein Air Base, Germany. -Southwest Asia -Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea Organizational Goals: Our #1 goal is to support the base and its geographically-separated units to a level that the maximum number of Air Commandos and tenant personnel are dentally ready to immediately deploy. Our #2 goal is to recapture the Air Force Medical Service's Best Dental Clinic of the Year award that the unit earned back in 2008. These are not just goals--they will happen!
