Effective immediately, all travel to Mexico, to include cruise ports of call, regardless of duration or location, requires O-6 approval.

Additionally, NORTHCOM has issued an official restriction, and non-official travel prohibition includes the following eight Mexican states: Michocan, Tamaulipas, Chihuahua, Sinaloa,
Durango, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon and San Luis Potosi.  NORTHCOM also strongly recommends non-official travel to Guerrero State, including Acapulco, be deferred until such time that the risk returns to an acceptable level.

This applies to all active duty and reservist component personnel in Title 10 status. DoD civilians and DoD contractors are strongly urged to abide by all prohibitions and advisories.
