Tops in Blue, the premier entertainment showcase of the U.S. Air Force, will perform a free concert March 11 at Hurlburt Field's 16th AMU Nose Dock (Building 90032) at 7 p.m. The musical group, comprised of Airmen from various career fields, is currently on their 2010 "We Believe" tour of Air Force installations around the world.

One of Hurlburt Field's own Air Commandos, Staff Sgt. Steven Sonnier, 1st Special Operations Group MC-130 loadmaster, is a singer with this year's tour. The upcoming concert also marks his first singing performance with the group at Hurlburt Field since being selected for the group early last year.

"As Americans, we believe in the magic of love and the strength of family," wrote Tops in Blue representatives in a press release. "We believe in ourselves and the ability each of us has to change things for the better, and we believe in the hope that gives us for the future. Most of all, we believe in the freedom we enjoy in this great nation and the opportunities we have to pursue our dreams. And we as Americans know what can be accomplished when we come together as one-we believe in the power that comes from the unity of people."

The group's singers, musicians and technicians will perform music from artists like Stevie Wonder, Michael Buble, Montgomery Gentry, Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas.

Spectators are permitted to take pictures of the group during the show. There will also be a meet and greet session for the audience after the performance. No concessions will be sold at the show. While food and drinks are allowed within the hangar, event sponsors request trash be kept to a minimum.

Parking will be available at the hangar, but there will also be bus locations at the base chapel, The Warehouse, base lodging and the Base Exchange to alleviate traffic issues.

Although the concert at Hurlburt Field is limited to Department of Defense cardholders, Tops in Blue will be performing March 12 in an event open to the general public at Northwest Florida State College's Niceville Campus at 7:30 p.m.

According to the group's website, Tops in Blue 2010 keeps 57 years of touring tradition alive by visiting all bases throughout the United States and more than 25 foreign countries. Their tour schedule spans more than 120 locations and also includes entertaining troops stationed in Iraq, Qatar, Afghanistan and Kuwait.

"These enthusiastic active-duty Airmen display the pride, patriotism and dedication felt by all Air Force personnel around the world," wrote group representatives in a press release. "The show is guaranteed to energize hearts and souls and remind each of us that we stand proudly for America, its people and its music."
