Why did you join the Air Force?
To have structure in my life, travel, further my education and to have a job.

How does your Air Force specialty contribute to the mission?
As a medic, I have the opportunity to care for our warriors and make sure they are physically and mentally ready for combat at all times. By working in the pediatric clinic, we care for our warriors' children. We give the children the absolute best care possible so their warrior parents do not have to worry about their child's health care while they're deployed.

What's your favorite thing about Hurlburt Field?
The unique Air Force Special Operations Command mission and the impact it has around the world.

What do you like most about being an Airman?
I like the structure and how we care for each other.

What's one thing you wish you were told before joining the Air Force?
You must have lots and lots of patience.

What motivates you at work?
I'm motivated by the people I work with and the children we care for.

Who are your heroes/role models?
My brother. He is also in the Air Force and encouraged me to join. He always gives me advice on how to handle certain situations, too.

Advice to others?
Lead by example and always strive to be the best. This will encourage those around you to do the same.

Why was he selected?
"Sergeant Gomez consistently goes above and beyond his regular duties to provide excellent medical support for the more than 18,000 beneficiaries at Hurlburt Field. His professional qualities and dedication to the 1st Special Operations Medical Group's  mission exemplifies the Air Force's core values. This dedicated medic is truly an asset to the 1st Special Operations Wing and is deserving of recognition for 'Tip of the Spear'."
