Why did you join the Air Force?
I wanted to give back to our country and take part in the many opportunities it provides.

How does your Air Force specialty contribute to the mission?
The communication I help provide is critical to the mission.

If you were Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force for one day, how would you change the Air Force?
I'd update the physical training gear so it is actually comfortable.

What's your favorite thing about Hurlburt Field?
The missions that the base supports.

What do you like most about being an Airman?
I can get training to improve myself at what I do.

What's one thing you wish you were told before joining the Air Force?
A more in-depth explanation of what to expect.

What motivates you at work?
I enjoy what I do, so I am always motivated.

Who are your heroes/role models?
I really don't idolize anybody, but a role model to me is anybody who does the right thing.

Advice to others?
Put your potential to work.

Why was he selected?
"Airman McCarty consistently overcomes challenges presented in the tactical communications environment with the professionalism of a seasoned veteran. Recently, he was selected to augment the 353rd Special Operations Group in an upcoming exercise. His selfless dedication and tireless commitment to success is a great asset to his unit and a tribute to this base."
