Why did you join the Air Force?
To travel around the world.

How does your Air Force specialty contribute to the mission?
We provide operational health risk assessment to protect Airmen from occupational and environmental health hazards.

If you were Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force for one day, how would you change the Air Force?
I would change bullet-writing for enlisted performance reports and awards packages to include at least a two-line explanation.

What's your favorite thing about Hurlburt Field?
The mission, people and beaches.

What do you like most about being an Airman?
Making a difference in someone's life.

What's one thing you wish you were told before joining the Air Force?
I wish I would have been given more information on picking a job specialty.

What motivates you at work?
Knowing that the job I do impacts the operational readiness of the base.

Who are your heroes/role models?
My family, because they push me to achieve my goals.

Advice to others?
Give 100 percent in everything you do, and enjoy life, because you only live once.

Why was she selected?
"Sergeant Hayes is a hard charging dynamic NCO with unlimited potential. She oversees the daily operation of her flight with minimal manning due to a recent turnover of the NCO-in-charge and several staff members leaving due to permanent change of stations and separations. She is a behind-the-scenes NCO who makes everything happen. She gives freely of herself everyday to ensure that the mission is complete. She is a shining example of an NCO and of the Air Force's core values."
