Name:
Tech. Sgt. Corey Fossbender

Unit: 4th SOS

Duty Title: AC-130U Aerial Gunner/Operations Flight NCO in charge

Hometown: Riverside, Ca

Date Entered the Air Force: 4 March 1992

Hobbies: Traveling, mountain biking, cooking and sneaking a nap in from time to time.

Why did you join the Air Force?
I almost signed up to join the Marines. My pop convinced me to talk to an Air Force recruiter; so I did and haven't looked back.

How does your Air Force specialty contribute to the mission?
It directly supports special operations forces' teams on the ground as a close air support platform.

If you were Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force for one day, how would you change the Air Force?
I would improve the base community on stateside installations. We have stopped supporting base clubs in recent years. After a hard day's work, we used to network and solve daily problems at these clubs.

What's your favorite thing about Hurlburt Field?
The "Warrior Ethos" demonstrated by military and civilian workers here. Also, running into people I have worked with over the years everywhere I go on base. The location isn't too bad either.

What do you like most about being an Airman?
The opportunity to serve my country, travel to distant countries and meet people from all walks of life.

What's one thing you wish you were told before joining the Air Force?
How fast time would go by.

What motivates you at work?
Being able to help and motivate other people. Ask me for my Rocky 5 speech.

Who are your heroes/role models?
I have many heroes. I work and walk among them every day. My best role models are my parents.

Advice to others?
Strive for excellence and never, ever give up!
