The Commando Pride Airman's Center opened the doors to its new facility March 18. Previously located in Bldg. 90318 next to the Honor Guard, CPAC now resides in Bldg. 90229 home, which is also home to Information, Tickets and Tours and the Red Cross. The new facility is located next to the education office.

The purpose of CPAC is to help first-term Airmen make the transition from the controlled environment of basic military training and technical school to the operational Air Force.

The program consists of approximately 10 duty days of in-processing, physical training, professional briefings and mission orientation. The briefings range from drug abuse and prevention training to financial management. The Airmen also get to meet with senior leadership to enhance their perspective of the mission at Hurlburt Field. The mission orientation perspective is one of the most important factors so the new Airmen understand the role they will play in the Air Force Special Operations Command way of life.

CPAC, largely known around the Air Force as the First Term Airman's Center, began at Hurlburt Field Oct. 18, 1999, and has processed more than 4,600 students since its inception. With class sizes ranging from 20 to 45 students, the new upgraded facility will allow easier access to some base facilities while conducting their briefings in a more professional environment.
