AF seeking input to improve processes

The Air Force is continuously looking for new and/or improved processes in order to maximize workplace efficiency as well as mission effectiveness.

The manpower and organization flight serves as the point of contact to the 1st Special Operations Wing in providing information and guidance on the numerous programs the Air Force utilizes to solicit these innovative ideas.

The Innovative Development through Employee Awareness program is an incentive program that recognizes eligible Air Force employees for creative and innovative ideas that foster improvement, economics and productivity. Cash awards range from $200 to $10,000, depending on the validated tangible savings and/or intangible benefits. The Web site for submitting ideas is https://ipds.csd.disa.mil.

Air Force Best Practices are superior methods or innovative practices that contribute to improved performance of processes. For more information on this program, visit the Air Force Best Practices Web page at https://www.afma.randolph.af.mil.

The Productivity Enhancing Capital Investment programs are defined and resourced by Air Force within the planning, programming and budgeting system. It consists of the Productivity Investment Fund and the Fast Payback Capital Investment programs.

PIF is an Air Force self-sustaining program that provides an opportunity for organizations to compete for funds to finance capital investments in equipment and facilities. Projects must be at least $2,000 and generate sufficient direct savings to return all investment costs within 4 years.

FASCAP is an AF program that uses self-sustaining funds for capital investments in equipment. Qualifying projects may not exceed $200,000 and must generate sufficient savings to return the cost of investment in 2 years.
