Kristina Newton 1st SOW Public Affairs HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. -- A student with the 342nd Training Squadron, Detachment 3, plead guilty and was convicted Nov. 30 for drug use. Airman Matthew Ratcliff was convicted on two counts of wrongful use of a controlled substance, a violation of Article 112a of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The charges specified the defendant used both cocaine and marijuana between August and September 2007. A military judge presided over the special court-martial and sentenced the Airman to a reduction in rank to airman basic, forfeiture of $867 a month for three months, 85 days confinement and a bad conduct discharge.
