On Oct. 16, the Hurlburt Field Combined Federal Campaign committee held its annual mid-campaign rally.

A large group of Airmen gathered on that rainy morning in the base exchange to share this festivity. Typically the event has focused on the campaign's progress and the recognition of outstanding key workers, and this year was no different.

As of the mid-point, $310,000 had been raised, well beyond the $237,000 that had been raised halfway through the campaign last year.

Following a brief introduction by Maj. Marilyn Garcia, this year's installation project officer, Col. Mike Smietana, 1st Special Operations Mission Support Group commander, praised the efforts of the campaign's key workers and the overall success thus far.

The 2007 CFC Mid-Campaign Rally concluded with closing remarks by Major Garcia reminding all that "the campaign is only half over, and we still have some challenges ahead" and further motivating the key workers to "keep the drive and energy you have displayed in the first three weeks" to surpass the $420,000 goal.
