Parrish Hollingsworth 1st SOSFS HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. -- Driving on a suspended license/failure to obey a lawful order: A USProtect guard at the main gate radioed the law enforcement desk to relay a military member was driving with an expired license tag. A check verified the tag was expired and the driver's license was suspended for failure to comply with traffic summons. The driver stated she didn't know her license was suspended. She was apprehended and transported to the law enforcement desk. The driver was issued a base wide driving suspension letter, a traffic ticket and released to her first sergeant. Damage to private vehicle: A female dependant telephoned the law enforcement desk to report damage to her privately owned vehicle. The owner said she arrived at work and parked her vehicle. When she returned to her car, she noticed a dent approximately three feet long on the driver side with blue paint transfer. 1st Special Operations Security Forces Squadron continues to investigate. Driving under the influence of alcohol - military: A police patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for reckless driving. When the patrolman approached the driver, he detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage from the driver. The driver consented to perform a standard field sobriety test and failed the test. The patrolman apprehended and transported the driver to the law enforcement desk for further processing. The driver provided a sample of his breath, which showed he was over the legal limit to operate a vehicle. The driver was issued a base wide driving suspension letter, a traffic ticket and released to his first sergeant. Driving under the influence of alcohol/off base/military: A first sergeant notified the law enforcement desk a military member was arrested off-base for driving under the influence of alcohol. An Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for being left unattended with the engine running. The deputy approached the vehicle and found the driver reclined in the driver's seat asleep. The driver performed standard field sobriety tests and failed the tests. The deputy arrested and transported the driver to the Okaloosa County Jail for further processing. The driver refused to a blood alcohol content test. The driver was given a summons to appear in court and released to his first sergeant. Driving under the influence of alcohol/underage consumption of alcoholic beverage - military: A USProtect guard notified the law enforcement desk of a military driver, possibly under the influence of alcohol, at the east gate. The guard requested to see military identification at which time he detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage from the driver. The driver consented to perform a standardized field sobriety test and failed the test. Another military member was also in the vehicle. A police patrol apprehended the driver and passenger and transported them to the law enforcement desk for processing. The passenger stated the driver was the designated driver for the evening. The driver provided a sample of his breath, which showed he was above the legal limit to operate a vehicle. The driver was issued a traffic ticket and a base wide driving revocation/suspension letter. The passenger was issued a base wide driving revocation/suspension letter for violation of the Wingman policy. Both the driver and passenger were released to their first sergeant. Underage consumption of alcohol - military and failure to obey lawful order or regulation: While conducting a walk through in the dorm area, police patrols heard yelling and proceeded to investigate. The patrols discovered three individuals standing outside a dorm room and an identification check showed they were all under the legal age to consume alcohol. All the subjects were apprehended and transported to the law enforcement desk for further processing. All subjects provided a sample of their breath, which revealed they all had consumed alcohol. All three were later released to their first sergeants. Assault: The law enforcement desk was notified of an assault at the golf course. Police patrols were dispatched and contacted the complainant, who stated that after he played through, an individual approached him and started poking him in the chest. The complainant retaliated by punching the individual in the head and biting his finger. The individual said he was playing slowly and let four other groups play through, but had not let the complainant. The individual stated he approached the complainant to confront him about the matter when he was struck and bitten. The law enforcement desk made contact with the OCSO who dispatched a deputy. Both parties declined to press charges and were released by the deputy. No further security forces actions were taken. Possible arson: The law enforcement desk was notified of a fire behind an on-base residence. Police patrols were dispatched and made contact with a witness who stated she saw a fire in the wood line and called 911. The witness she witnessed a male approximately 5 foot 6 inches tall, between the ages of 13-15 years old run from the area that was lit on fire, with his hands covering his face. 1st SOSFS and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations continue to investigate.
