In order to serve our flying community with high quality medical care in a timely fashion, the Hurlburt Field Flight Medicine Clinic is making the following changes:

Effective May 1, all sick call patients will be booked into scheduled acute appointments the same day or within 24 hours. In addition to acute appointments, the flight medicine clinic will have appointments for those returning to flying status, follow-ups and flight physicals available throughout the day. A scheduled appointment will eliminate the unpredictable and often long wait times caused by sick call. This will also allow us the ability to provide continuity of care with your squadron assigned flight surgeon. This change will also improve the efficiency of the flight medicine clinic as we will be better able to gage our workload and spend time with each patient. We can better manage your care if we know that a patient is coming to see us. Our goal is to provide the best quality and timely medical care to our flying population to "keep 'em flying."

Appointments can be made through TRICARE On Line at www.tricareonline.com or by calling central appointments at 883-8600 or 884-7882. Any questions concerning the new process may be addressed to flight medicine clinic at 881-2135.
