Fit Eagle Competition brings out 'best of best' Published Feb. 16, 2007 By Dylan Laurie Contract writer HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. -- The 4th Special Operations Squadron team won first place during the 17th Annual Fit Eagle competition Feb. 9 at the Aderholt Fitness Center. Sixteen teams participated in a variety of events that included a 5K run, pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups, sit and reach, tug o' war and a mystery event - the hula-hoop pass. The 1st Special Operations Component Maintenance Squadron team received second place overall and the 720th Operations Support Squadron took third. "Fit Eagle is held to promote camaraderie amongst the squadrons," said Karen Cataldo, Riptide Fitness Center manager. Teams were made up of active-duty military members consisting of one male more than 40 years old, one male more than 30 years old, one male any age and two females any age. Up to two teams were allowed per squadron.
