CE wins 22 AFSOC awards Published Dec. 8, 2006 By Courtesy of 1st SOW Public Affairs HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. -- Out of 34 Air Force Special Operations Command award categories, individuals and units from Hurlburt Field's 1st Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron walked away with 22 first place awards. Several of CES's flights took top honors in their respective outstanding flight awards: Explosive ordnance disposal, readiness, housing, engineering and resources. CES also won the outstanding unit award. Several environmental awards went to CES as well, including: installation resources management, national environmental team policy act, team pollution prevention and team resource management. Katherine Lindler --Outstanding individual community planner of the year: Carl Hoffman --Maj. Gen. William D. Gilbert officer award: Maj. Joseph Cook --Maj. Gen. William D. Gilbert enlisted award: Master Sgt. Matthew Shryock --Maj. Gen. William D. Gilbert civilian award: Sue Nelson --Air Force Design Excellence award: Otto Spangler Jr.
