Senior Airman Brent Pearson, a vehicle mechanic assigned to the 23rd Special Tactics Squadron here, was killed in a single vehicle motorcycle crash near Baker, Fla. Saturday.
A native of Goodwater, Ala., Airman Pearson was born on Jan. 9, 1981 and entered the Air Force in July, 1999. After technical school, he was assigned to Eglin Air Force Base. During that tour, He deployed to Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia. He then moved to Osan Air Base, Korea for a remote tour.

Following the year-long assignment to Korea, he was transferred here to Hurlburt Field and was assigned to the 23rd STS as a general purpose vehicle mechanic. He not only worked on common vehicles, but also maintained special tactics-specific vehicles, including motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles. These vehicles are vital to operations such as air control and combat search and rescue.

"He had a Kool-Aid smile - it went from ear-to-ear," said Senior Airman Dante Clark. "Everyday I came to work he had a smile and a joke to share. Brent was a man with a heart of gold, he would do anything for anyone."
