One-Stop kiosk helps simplify customer service access Published June 12, 2006 By Dylan Laurie 16th SOW Public Affairs HURLBURT FIELD, Fla -- Airmen dealing with financial and personnel issues discovered an easier method to resolve them here in April with the new Air Force One-Stop kiosk. The new computer system, located in the Finance lobby in building 90210, is a part of an ongoing Air Force Customer Service transformation initiative designed to improve the quality of life and enhance mission readiness of military personnel. “It allows customers to take care of some of their financial issues outside of this office because it’s up and running 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Captain Calvin Henderson Jr., 16th Comptroller Squadron financial services flight commander. “The idea behind it is to reach people who don’t have access to computers on a daily basis.” DynaTouch Corporation, which has produced similar information systems for other Department of Defense organizations, produced the kiosk. The kiosk helps members gain access to customer service offices such as finance, military personnel flight and the civilian personnel flight. “The kiosk provides access to MyPay, LeaveWeb, travel vouchers, different military pay forms and even allows Airmen to update their thrift savings plan,” Captain Henderson explained. It also provides informational links to local churches, schools, housing, family support centers and various other Web sites for people transitioning into the area. Although other bases such as Lackland, Keesler, Goodfellow, Wright-Patterson and Eglin have multiple kiosks located in several locations, Hurlburt Field is going to have to wait before it gets any more. “It’s in the works now,” Captain Henderson said. Plans to move the kiosk to the Base Exchange are also being discussed. “A lot of the base populace goes the BX and we’re working with the communications squadron right now to figure out what kind of connections we would need and who would pay for them,” said Captain Henderson. Captain Henderson said an answer is hoped for within the next month. Steve Friend, AAFES Service Business Manager for Hurlburt, Eglin, and Tyndall Air Force Bases has already given the go-ahead for the move.
