U.S. Air Force Col. Jocelyn Schermerhorn, 1st Special Operations Wing commander, directs Health Protection Condition Bravo due to the increased community transmission of COVID-19 across the local communities, effective June 29.

Mask wear is not required indoors apart from medical facilities in accordance with new DOD policy. There are still no restrictions on gathering size if current CDC and DoD COVID-19 mitigation guidance is followed.

Healthcare professionals will continue to comply with mask-wear guidance. Patients, visitors and all others entering base healthcare facilities will continue to wear masks while in these facilities to reduce transmission of COVID-19.

All Hurlburt Field personnel will continue to exercise diligence in personal hygiene and public health risk mitigation measures. These measures include:

Strict hygiene.

Regular cleaning of workplace common areas.

Wear masks in accordance with current guidance.

Physical distancing – maintaining at least a six-foot distance between individuals.

Stay at home when experiencing symptoms or illness, notify your supervision, and contact your primary care manager.

Screening and testing – At least once a week screening and testing is required for service members, civilians and contractors who are not fully vaccinated.  This includes those who have an exemption request under review or who are exempted from COVID-19 vaccination.
