Anne Munch spoke to more than 4,000 Air Commandos on Sexual Assault Prevention and Response during a visit here March 25 through 26.

Munch, prosecutor and advocate for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking, is a sought after conference speaker with 25 years of experience in her field and a subject matter expert for the U.S. Air Force, Army and Navy.

"[Sexual assault] is a problem that is in each of our communities, including the Air Force community," she said. "Anything I can bring to help educate people, get them to look at themselves and their own ideas is a great starting point in my mind."

During her two-day visit, she gave several presentations titled "Naming the Un-named Conspirator" to help Airmen better understand the issues of sexual assault and domestic violence.

"I got a new perspective on the subject I never thought about before," said Senior Airman Lucas Carlson, 1st Special Operations Support Squadron analyst journeyman. "It was interesting to hear about the 'un-named conspirator' being a part of it instead of just the victim and offender."

Munch said people tend to not realize the fact that there is an un-named contributor to sexual assault cases other than the normal victim and offender.

"There is more misinformation and misunderstanding about the topic of sexual assault than pretty much any other topic I've learned," said Munch. "Both about victims and about offenders, and if I can be a part of helping the Air Force continue on its road of excellence and responding to this problem, I feel really lucky to do that."

Munch works full time providing speaking, training and consulting to local, national and military organizations across the U.S., Europe and Asia.
