Hurlburt to host Sexual Assault Awareness obstacle course

HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. --  Hurlburt Field members can test their resiliency during an obstacle course here April 11.

"The courses will represent things that one may encounter in their personal and work life, such as burdens, isolation and impairment," said Senior Airman Rayna Yamamoto, 1st Special Operations Communication Squadron communications project manager. "Participants will have the choice between a long or short course that will both consist of the same challenges, just different lengths."

Hurlburt members and their families are encouraged to come out and enjoy a day of morale-boosting and awareness activities.

Staff Sgt. Alicia Pumil, 1st Special Operations Comptroller Squadron NCO in charge of travel, said she participated in the obstacle course last year and thought it was an awesome event.

"It was a fun experience," said Pumil. "The obstacle course helped build camaraderie between teammates and allowed me to challenge myself and prove myself to my teammates."

The Fort Walton Beach Military Affairs Committee is scheduled to host a military appreciation barbecue during the course activities.
