The 1st Special Operations Security Forces Squadron held a change of command ceremony at the Soundside Club on Hurlburt Field, Fla., July 12.

Lt. Col. Kirk Hughes passed the 1st SOSFS guidon to Col. Douglas Dudley, 1st Special Operations Mission Support Group commander, who then presented the guidon to Maj. Keith Quick, the incoming 1st SOSFS commander.

The 1st SOSFS ensures the safety of 20,000 military personnel present in the Hurlburt Field community by providing law enforcement services.

"I'm proud to have served with each and every one of you [1st SOSFS] Airmen," Hughes said. "The job we do is very vital to the mission and one of the greatest things to see was our Airmen working together."

Hughes will be headed to the Air Combat Command at Langley Air Force base in Virginia.

Quick commissioned into the United States Air Force in 2000.
He has served as a security member, logistics officer twice, operations officer, commander, and Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas.

"Leading security forces defenders is what I love to do," Quick said. "To the men and women of security forces, I'm truly honored to join your team, and I look forward to being your commander."
