The Air Force Association, Hurlburt Field chapter, recognized 23 Air Commandos as Unsung Heroes during a luncheon at the Sound Side Club Dec. 9, 2014.

The AFA began the program in 1997 as a way to highlight outstanding performers. They recognize Airmen who work hard every day on the job and volunteer in the local community, but who have not been previously recognized.

“Team Hurlburt is like a machine,” said Col. Bill West, 1st Special Operations Wing commander. “It’s many different parts that make a machine work. That’s what this is about, recognizing the Airmen that make things happen behind the scenes.”
