Gator Lakes Golf Course hosted a fundraiser golf tournament here in support of the Hurlburt Field Air Force Ball, July 24.

Eight weeks of coordination and planning by Master Sgt. David Lange, 23rd Special Tactics Squadron first sergeant and lead coordinator, and Senior Master Sgt. Michelle Lange, 801st Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron first sergeant and assistant coordinator, made for a successful event at the Gator Lakes Golf Course. .

The tournament consisted of 31 four-man teams competing for a chance to win multiple prizes ranging from free rounds of golf at Gator Lakes to a brand new motorcycle for the player who sinks a hole-in-one.

“This tournament was a great turn out,” said Master Sgt. Ronnie Hart, 901st SOAMXS mission enhancement flight superintendent. “It’s not about winning; it’s about raising money for a good cause.”

The funds raised will be used to lower the price of tickets for junior airmen attending the Air Force Ball on Sept. 12, 2015.

“It’s about helping our airmen,” said Master Sgt. Lange. “The goal is to raise $15,000 for the Hurlburt Air Force Ball, and so far the committee is on track to exceed that goal.”

The tournament raised more than $3,000 toward Hurlburt’s Air ForceBall committee’s goal.
