Colonel ADAM E. MOORE

Colonel Adam E. Moore is the Commander of the 1st Special Operations Group (1 SOG) located at Hurlburt Field, Florida. The 1 SOG plans and executes infiltration, re-supply, air refueling, kinetic strike, precision fire support, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance missions employing 78 fixed-wing, remotely piloted, and tilt-rotor aircraft including the AC-130J, MC-130J, MQ-9, PC-12, and U-28A aircraft. Additionally, the 1 SOG provides USSOCOM with focused and timely intelligence processing, exploitation, and dissemination capabilities. The group consists of 9 special operations squadrons with nearly 1,700 Air Commandos from 80 different Air Force Specialty Codes. The 1 SOG provides full spectrum specialized airpower to combatant commanders executing special operations mission to include direct action, high-value target, unconventional warfare, special reconnaissance, counterterrorism, personnel recovery, and psychological operations.

Colonel Moore received his commission through the ROTC program at the University of Kansas in 2000. Upon graduation, he earned his wings at Joint Undergraduate Navigator Training at Randolph AFB.

Colonel Moore is a Master Navigator with over 1,300 combat hours in the AC-130U and AC-130W in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, and INHERENT RESOLVE.
