Chief Master Sergeant Joshua J. Moore

Chief Master Sergeant Joshua J. Moore serves as Command Chief, 1st Special Operations Wing, 
Hurlburt Field, Florida. He is the primary advisor to the Commander on all issues affecting the 
health, welfare, morale, training, development, and utilization of more than 4,000 enlisted Airmen. 
The wing's mission includes planning, posturing, and executing precision strike, specialized 
mobility and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. The wing employs more than 50 
aircraft, including the AC-130J, MC-130J, and MQ-9 ($70B fleet). These capabilities support a 
variety of special operations missions including direct action, unconventional warfare, special 
reconnaissance, counterterrorism, personnel recovery, psychological operations and information 
operations.

During Sergeant Moore’s 26 years of service, he has been a Machinist Mate on the USS Nashville, a 
Flight Engineer on the MH-53M Pave Low, and as a Special Missions Aviator on the CV-22B Osprey. 
Chief Moore was the first CV-22 Special Missions Aviator to accumulate 2000 flight hours and has 
over 3784 flight hours which includes 800 instructor and 382 combat hours.
