ACC to conduct experiment testing agility and lead wing concepts during AGILE FLAG 21-1
Air Combat Command will conduct an experiment known as Agile Flag 21-1 from Oct. 21-29 to test agile combat employment and a new lead wing deployment concept. During Agile Flag 21-1, the 366th Fighter Wing from Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, will test its ability to deploy as a lead Air Expeditionary Wing with a wing-level air staff. The unit will employ mission generation, command and control, and base operating support elements from its main operating base at Tyndall AFB, Florida, while supporting a forward operating base at Hurlburt Field, Florida, and a contingency location at Eglin AFB, Florida.

Hurlburt Field enters HURCON 5 in preparation for potential hurricane
As of 12:00 p.m. today, base officials initiated Hurricane Condition 5 to prepare for the possible arrival of tropical storm or hurricane force winds on Friday, Oct. 9, 2020, here, based on the current forecast for Tropical Storm Delta, located in the central Caribbean Sea. HURCON 5 is a level of warning used by the Air Force to assist commanders in preparing their units for storm response actions. It is meant to focus the base’s attention on the storm and signal the start of active preparation.
Osprey's fire for readiness, soar above Emerald Coast
Aircrew members with the 8th Special Operations Squadron conducted approach and landing training, and fired approximately 600 rounds of .50-caliber ammunition, ensuring Air Force Special Operation Command’s tip of the spear capability and presence. The CV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft combines the vertical takeoff, landing and hover capabilities of a helicopter with the long-range, fuel efficient and speed characteristics of a turboprop aircraft.
