Tennessee bridge dedicated in honor of fallen Air Commando, Staff Sgt. Robert "Bobby" J. McGuire, Jr.
Tony McLain, left, long-time friend of the McGuire family, and a friend, unveil the sign with Staff Sgt. Robert “Bobby” J. McGuire, Jr’s name on it during a bridge dedication ceremony in Norene, Tenn., Aug. 4, 2017. The bridge was named in honor of McGuire, a loadmaster with the 16th Special Operations Squadron, who died Aug. 7, 2002, when the MC-130H Combat Talon II he was in crashed during a training mission south of San Juan, Puerto Rico, killing all 10 members onboard. McGuire grew up in Watertown, Tenn., and graduated from Watertown High School in 1992. The bridge was built over Florida Creek and is at the intersection of Cainsville and Greenvale Road.
