Hurlburt family have a 'Cutest Kiddo'

HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. --  Many parents and grandparents often claim to have the 'Cutest Kiddo,' but for one Hurlburt Field family, they have a $500 Exchange gift card to back up their words.

Jennifer Demming, wife of Tech. Sgt. Frederick Demming, 10th Combat Weather Squadron, was notified shortly before the holiday season that her family had won the 3rd Annual Army & Air Force Exchange Service Facebook Contest for the 'Cutest Kiddo.'
 
Jennifer came to pick up her prize, a $500 gift card, at the Base Exchange at Hurlburt Field, Fla., Jan. 14.

According to Jennifer, her husband noticed an AAFES sign advertising the 'Cutest Kiddo' contest while deployed. He suggested to her they enter a photo of their two-year-old daughter Eliana into the contest.

"He seemed really excited about the contest on the phone and thought we had a very good chance of winning," Jennifer said. "Everyone wants to believe that their child is the cutest, but now we actually have an award to prove it."

The winning picture was of Jennifer, Frederick and Eliana, asleep holding hands with her then-three-week-old baby brother, Jesiah.

"We're very happy that we won the award," Jennifer said. "We're going to use it for the kids."
